IPAC’s Music Performance Company

Auditions

  • Auditions will be held on August 5th 5:00-7:00
  • What do expect at auditions
    • Audito are much like a class without a warm-up. Arrive early to warm yourself up. Also please dress in appropriate attire
    • You will play/sing for the music staff
    • Auditions are free, fun and friendly! We encourage each musician to do their best!
  • Having a great audition!
    • Plan ahead with a ride, attire, music, and anything else you may need to have a wonderful audition
    • Relax and have fun! This is a friendly, positive experience and a great preparation for another audition experiences!

Outcomes/Goals

  • Laying the foundation for future musicians and performers
  • Give students opportunities to perform and give back to the community
  • Foster a sense of responsibility to our students
  • Give students a strong foundation in performance etiquette
  • Develop relationships between other musicians
  • Challenge students to broaden their horizons and grow in both character and musicality
  • Build and foster an experience that will last a lifetime!

IPAC MPC’s Investment

  • 5 hours of community service hours
    • Nursing home Performances
    • Benefit concerts (i.e. MusicLink Playathon at Mall of America, Pedaling for Pianos, Impact Gala, National Anthem)
  • Performing for outside events (Recitals outside of IPAC, festivals, school events, master classes)
  • Mentoring students (helping at ice cream social, summer music camp, play/sing duets with younger students)
  • Participate in 1-3 contests or exams
  • Monthly musicales with opportunities to bond with other students, performance prep including giving feedback on each other, ensemble work (Reporting back/giving progress to music staff for guidance and recommendations)
  • Listening assignments for five pieces from at least three different genres where student would have to write personal reactions, one would have to be a live performance.
  • Create either an original composition or a project that bridges to another art form, which will be presented at the final musicales of the year.
